I’m a competitive Fortnite player looking for a 240 hz experience but struggling with FPS consistency. My performance varies between 180 and 240 fps depending on the situation. I’m unsure if a 240 hz monitor is suitable since I don’t have one yet, and I’m still getting familiar with this. My current setup includes an RX 580 armor 8g OC graphics card, an AMD Ryzon 5 2600 CPU, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, and an Asus Prime B450M-A.

upgrade the cpu to a ryzen 5600x or 5800x (or 5700g), fps games usually benefit from quicker cpu processing. Be sure to update the bios to the newest version before installing, and remove the old processors using the device manager as instructed.

Make sure your bios is updated to the latest version before installing, and remove the old processor from the device manager. After that, turn off the pc, install the new cpu, return to bios (restore default settings), enable xmp, and check for windows update if available after installation.
