I'm working with the following setup: -Asus B350f Rog motherboard -Ryzen 7 1700X -Asus 2070 Super -16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz -EVGA 650W PSU -Kingston A400 240GB SSD This project began as a budget build and has gradually improved over time. I'm seeking recommendations for a better board and additional upgrades to enhance gaming performance. My monitor is currently mediocre, being a cheap 24-inch curved 75MHz model. I'm also considering what to upgrade it with. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Mate, Your graphics card and PSU (if it's over 80+ gold) are in good shape. If I were you, I’d upgrade the motherboard to an x570 chipset for overclocking, then the CPU, followed by a Gen 4 M.2 SSD (since I don’t want long waits), then the RAM, in that sequence. If you weren’t targeting a Ryzen 9, you might be able to get the CPU first. I’m eyeing the New AORUS FI27Q-P, but since it’s dual work/play, I can justify the higher cost. It really depends on your budget! Cheers.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m planning to upgrade the Mobo since I’m not up to date with its capabilities. Probably an M.2 drive now and a new Mobo later. Appreciate the advice!

Start with a fresh screen. Moving from your 1700 model to a 1080p/75 won't significantly improve performance in the 2070s. The display is likely limiting your potential. Opt for 1080p/144 for better GPU longevity and future CPU support. You can still handle 1080p/60 when GPUs start to lag. Upgrading to 1440p/144 is better if you want to keep GPUs and CPUs updated without spending too much. Running at 1080p/75 is still okay if you don’t plan to upgrade soon and can’t afford higher resolutions.
