need some insight on htpc
my current htpc is a: shuttle SA76R4, featuring a phenom x4 960t with 16gb ram ddr3 gtx 1050 kingston 480 ssd. i've been using this setup for at least five years (upgrading the gpu and hard drive not too recently). until recently, everything worked smoothly—1080p streaming was fine, but on some youtube channels playing 1080p60 it would stutter, and cpu usage would spike to 98%. the same videos run without issues in an edge browser. i'm not a tech expert on troubleshooting this. i'm considering switching to a ryzen or just rebuilding from scratch. if anyone knows if this case can still fit these components? alternatively, you mentioned an alternative case: silverstone SG13B (amd ryzen 5 1600 af gigabyte b450-i aorus pro wifi noctua nh-l9a) with g.skill ripjaws v (2x8gb) and corsair sf600.
I possess solely a Sony 32-inch display and operate with an Intel Pentium 4520 equipped with integrated graphics. It functions smoothly with my cable tuner for all high-definition channels, as well as streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and ESPN+ via Wi-Fi. The latter require no Ethernet cables since the router is just 15 feet away. I haven’t encountered any problems using Firefox for video playback. My setup resembles a Gigabyte board compatible with Intel platforms, featuring 6GB RAM, a 250GB Samsung SSD for the operating system, and a 1TB HDD for recording purposes. I’m running Windows 7, which remains the only OS that supports Windows Media Center.
