Need some help
Sure thing, guys. I’m looking to upgrade my PC with a new build featuring 3200 RAM, an i7-7700 CPU, and a Z270 motherboard. I’ve heard some people say the system can slow down when it starts up, so I’m wondering if switching back to 3200 will be safe. I don’t want to exceed 3200 just to match the specs, but I also want to make sure it works properly. Also, if I decide to overclock the CPU, would that mean I need to do the same with the graphics card? Thanks a lot!
Even with the non-K version, I can still maintain the RAM at 3200 MHz.
Do you want to know whether it's the I7-7700 or I7-7700K?
If you choose the K model with overclocking, you'll be raising voltages, and eventually you'll need to boost RAM voltage beyond the usual 1.2v to achieve speeds above 2400.
This affects your potential for maximum overclocking.
For the non-overclockable I7-7700, just select the faster XMP profile that fits your needs.
