Need some guidance on these confusing fan cables?
Hello everyone. I'm halfway through setting up my first build. My case includes six ARGB fans that were all shipped together, but it looks odd since only one header seems to have six fans. There appears to be an extra cable from one fan for ARGB. I'm not sure if that's the right setup. There doesn't seem to be a controller, and I'm using the ASUS TUF B550 Gaming Plus Wifi II in full ATX with the Kolink MX Mesh case. The manual doesn't mention the pre-installed fans at all—only five ARGB fans and five standard ones. All the fans were daisy-chained together, except for the rear fan which has its own cable to a reset switch. I removed a few cables to try and figure it out. The rear fan has an additional cable, possibly for manual control or fan speed adjustment. I'm hoping to use both ARGB and have control over all fans, but I'm worried about damaging anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
The video highlights the cables more clearly, showing a single SATA for power. It seems there’s no speed control involved. The fans were labeled as PWM, but they appear to have been removed from the setup.
I see those but unless I am missing something if I plug in to those there is no RGB control for the front 4 fans as there is only an argb connector on rear and only a sata power connector. Seems like they've really limited it in the name of easier cables?
