Need new watercooling pump
Need new watercooling pump
Hi there, your current watercooling pump failed. Are there other options you could consider to replace it? Please let me know the prices in AUD $ for each alternative.
I don't like the design of that Alphacool reservoir since the front fill port they added as a convenience won't let the tank be filled beyond 75%. When only 75% is filled, the coolant barely reaches the D5 pumps intake. If air gets drawn into the intake port, it could lead to early pump failure—this pump should last at least four years. How long has it actually lasted? Given this situation, would you consider a cylinder-style reservoir instead? Of course, replacing the pump is the most affordable solution; you'd just need a variable speed D5 replacement pump, though it might cost more later if another pump fails.

Given this situation of potential component issues, would you consider a cylinder-style reservoir instead?
Of course, replacing the pump is the most economical solution; you’d just need a variable speed D5 pump, though it might turn out to be more expensive in the long term if another failure occurs due to the reservoir.
Recommended options:
- This reservoir can be filled from the top and reaches full capacity, costing about 20% more than just the replacement pump.
- See: http://www.amazon.com/XSPC-Dual-Res...&keywords=water+cooling&refinements=p_89:XSPC
- The cylinder design I mentioned is preferable because the pump intake stays within the coolant volume.

Hi there, I've only used the res/pump combo for about six to seven months, just changed the coolant recently. Unfortunately, I can't fit a long reservoir when I have the loop, so the double bay option was my only choice. Case is A31 chaser thermaltake
