I've produced a few YouTube videos recently while serving in the BF4 platoon for our joint drills. However, I'm facing issues capturing clear footage without sacrificing gameplay quality—this is crucial during scrims. My setup includes an FX8350, R9 290 GPU with 16GB RAM, an SSD OS, a second SSD for game storage, and recording to a 1TB Western Digital Blue HDD. I'm using Dxtory with the Lagarith Lossless codec, which is decent but not ideal. The 1TB drive writes around 190 MB/sec, which should handle 720p at 60fps, but in recordings it drops to 50fps and can't go much higher. Anyone have suggestions for a better codec or a capture card that supports my 144Hz monitor? I really wish I had Shadowplay

AMD offers a Game DVR solution that functions more like shadowplay; I’m not aware of any capture devices that operate at 144Hz, though I apologize

AMD includes a shadowplay-like effect. It requires AMD Gaming Evolved, which contains a recording feature. I've only used it a few times and haven't noticed any performance issues.

I tried it again earlier and it only lasted about five minutes. The performance was quite poor, especially with minimal settings. It was still in beta at the time. I’ll update you on the results.
