Hey everyone. Just tried resetting the Netsh Winsock to fix an issue I encountered after reading a guide online. After doing that, I restarted my PC and now things are going wrong. On the taskbar, I see a blue pinwheel and can only access certain apps if I keep hovering over it. Pressing the Windows button makes the screen go black for half a second, then all my desktop icons vanish instantly without any response. I managed to open settings using Win+I, but troubleshooting my network works fine. When checking available networks, the button turns grey and eventually crashes the settings page, making it impossible to see any networks or access them at all. Is my computer okay? Do you have any suggestions or solutions? Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like a modified version of explorer.exe; using the restore command might assist. Execute the command in Command Prompt or PowerShell with admin privileges, then restart completely to check the outcome.

You adjust the system settings directly without a backup. DISM commands and sfc /scannow can help, but always make a restore point first for safety. It’s quick—under two minutes—and can prevent major issues later. For more details, refer to the official guide at the provided link.

It doesn’t look like the fix was successful. I’ve scanned, checked, and tried to restore the disk, but the SFC scan still shows corruption.
