Hello. Your connection seems to experience fluctuations in speed. Despite using a 900 Mbps plan, you often reach around 90 Mbps, which remains consistent until you disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet. Restarting the router doesn’t resolve the problem, but switching the cable connections—either from the device or the wall—does. You’ve replaced the main Ethernet cable and the wall-to-ONT cable with CAT6, yet the issue persists. When the cables are properly connected, speeds range between 600-800 Mbps depending on usage. The problem appears to occur only when the cables are disconnected and then reattached. It’s possible the issue lies with the cable itself or the ONT, rather than just the router. Since the router is relatively new, but the ONT is much older, it might be worth checking its condition or contacting the service provider for further diagnosis. Any help would be appreciated.

The equipment at the other side appears to be a computer with a specific network interface card in use. It seems the connection is unstable, and simply switching it on and off restores normal performance.

You're navigating network challenges while managing torrents. It seems you're adjusting connections to prevent performance issues, checking other devices on the same network, and exploring troubleshooting steps like disconnecting or renewing the connection. Are there any additional actions you're taking to resolve the slowdown?

Thanks for your message. It’s hard to pinpoint the exact reason, as I noticed the connection speed dropped to 90Mbps while watching YouTube. With multiple devices online—TV, iPad, smart home gadgets, and a laptop and two phones—I suspected network congestion. The Ethernet port on my PC showed yellow when it was running at 100Mbps, but green when at full speed. When I unplugged the Ethernet cable and reconnected it, the issue disappeared. It seems either the cable or the router’s ONT might be faulty. I haven’t used Windows release-renew yet because it impacts all devices, and my PC is usually off during these problems since I mainly use it for gaming. Appreciate your guidance!
