Need help with Windows 10 upgrades? Ask about the process and common issues!
Hey there! Upgrading your system sounds like a great plan. Regarding Windows 10 activation, since you already have a Windows 8 key and used the free upgrade, linking your license to your account should still apply even after the upgrade. As for starting up, once everything is connected and installed, it should launch without issues unless there are specific setup steps required. You might want to check the BIOS/UEFI settings or the system requirements for Windows 10. If you're unsure, formatting the hard drive and reinstalling from a USB could be a safe backup option. In my setup from last year I received the free Windows upgrade, so I’m curious—when I connect it to my account and turn it on on a different machine, will it run Windows 8 or 10?
I don’t understand the process, but I purchased Windows 8.1 because Windows 10 was a free upgrade and then switched to Windows 10. Recently, I upgraded my computer and simply used the Windows 10 ISO with the 8.1 key, and everything functioned perfectly.
It seems the process could involve either the link account method or entering a license key.
The issue is that I don’t want my Kaby Lake setup working with Windows 8, because Microsoft won’t back that combination. That means I’ll need to upgrade to Windows 10, which will increase my expenses.
Purchase a solution online for $30, it’s the most effective option.
