I understand... Windows 10 issue... I haven’t received the update icon in my taskbar yet and was curious if it’s due to unsupported hardware or missing driver support for the update. Also wondering if it’s because my Windows 7 isn’t fully updated with all Microsoft releases. Just wanted to check before downloading unnecessary updates. By the way, I don’t have auto-update enabled for Microsoft updates, so I’m not downloading them unless necessary. And yes, I’ve searched online and the MS FAQ didn’t help much.

1. Check for all recent updates
2. Use the media creation tool

Many users have shared suggestions online about downloading Windows 10 from the official site. Some note that not everyone receives alerts due to hardware compatibility issues on certain computers.

Likely needed an update or patch. I refreshed my old "Reserve Systems" version to unlock the win 10 reservation feature. Installing Win 10 from scratch isn't possible without prior registration.

Don't worry, you will not have problems using this. I used it once, got it installed and activated just fine.

Ensure your operating system is current to receive the Win10 upgrade icon. Some systems may not display it unless they meet the necessary requirements. You can perform a forced update or clean install using the media creation tool, though this may have limited benefits. Auto-update must be enabled for the upgrade to work. Three updates are required to show the upgrade icon; outdated devices might need multiple attempts. If you don’t see the Get Windows 10 app, check the troubleshooting guide linked in the article.
