Need help with the race driver grid?
I'm looking for alternative solutions to run disc games on Windows 10. I have a physical disc version of Racedriver Grid that doesn't work there, and I've tried some methods from older systems. Codemasters suggested buying a digital copy, but no one seems to have a workaround that avoids re-downloading the same files.
I meant something else, not trying to break it. I tested compatibility settings for multiple versions and found that your version might be compatible. It’s possible your disc works with newer Windows, even though my copy is an original from around 2008. I’m talking about ways to let Windows ignore certain protections like Safe Disc, which the company acknowledges has a workaround but it’s complicated. I’m just reminding everyone to read my explanation carefully—stealing games isn’t something I support. The real issue is that Codemasters is pushing for a new copy, which feels unfair since I already own it.
Honestly, I can't handle this hassle and might just get a digital version later when I buy Deadpool.
Have the game, just install the no-cd version and you're good to go. You're not taking anything since you already purchased it. The multiplayer servers are running, but you might wait for a discount during a Steam sale.
I tried a no CD patch but it didn’t work. I got a fresh digital copy and the same problem appeared. It functioned on another PC but not this one. I accessed the games folder and adjusted the target name in the quick launch icon by appending "-novirtual" at the end. Although I can’t launch it via GOG or from the desktop, I can use that quick launch icon. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to modify the target for the non-shortcut icon in the game folder. This means I have a partially functional version on one PC and a fully working one on the main rig.
