Hi, I'm trying to build my I5-6600k but have no idea which motherboard to choose. I want the R9 390x for gaming at 1080p with 16GB DDR3 RAM. If you know any good PSUs, let me know—I'm new to PC building.

Only proceed with Skylake if you're installing DDR4 RAM as recommended. Using DDR3 RAM on D3 boards poses a serious danger due to their extremely high voltage, which could damage your motherboard. Check the configuration below:

Would it be advisable to opt for DDR4 RAM? Selecting DDR3 would limit your options for mobos compatible with Skylake, potentially causing problems and limitations. The ASUS Z170-A Mobo paired with DDR4 RAM should provide a solid gaming experience at 1080p.

Only budget boards are suitable for DDR3 RAM, and you shouldn't try to overclock them. Also, think about choosing another GPU—using a 390x for 1080p is unnecessary.

I received a lot of help from some PC sellers, who clarified about Skylake now. I’m even more worried about buying an 6600k. For 1080p it feels a bit outdated, maybe 1440p is around 390x but I want 1080p. What GPU should I choose for 1080p... This Skylake situation is really confusing.
