Need help with e7500 |:\
I recently purchased a used Intel e7500 processor!
It's kind of good, comparing to my prev buddy - Pentium e5700 that is...
...But I couldn't OC it properly...the reason why am here!
My build: P5QC (why not), 4 GB DDR3, <insert some generic Nvidia GPU, doesn't matter>
Some base numbers:
e5700 - 3.0 GHz / 2M / 800
e7500 - 2.93 GHz / 3M / 1066 (yay) 11 x 266 ...seems like important...
I pretty much did the same procedure with e7500 by slowly increasing bus speed...266-275-285-300(?)
The question (may not be obvious): can I achieve something better than what I have now?
I'm talking straight about overclocking, which I did...but I wasn't satisfied with the result, because my e5700 performed much better without so much fuss...
BIOS PICS LATER, Imgur is being very picky about quality of my posted content...therefore occurred lack of pics
It looks like you're asking about the specific ASUS motherboard model and your RAM information. You also want to know if you're encountering any post or overclock failure messages during setup.
It looks like you're using an ASUS P5QC motherboard with DDR3 RAM. You're asking about your current RAM specifications and whether you're encountering any issues when attempting to overclock. Your current speed is around 3.5 GHz, and you're curious about the potential for further optimization.
the best approach i can suggest is to adjust your multiplier from "11" to "9" and modify fsb from "318" to "400". additionally, try switching your FSB strap to North Bridge from "Auto" to "400" if feasible. this should allow you to set your DRAM frequency to 800 MHz and achieve a perfect fsb/dram ratio of 1:1, delivering optimal performance. your cpu speed should stabilize around 3.6 GHz, which falls within the ideal range of 3.6–3.8 GHz for maximum stability during boot-ups.
Also a minor note to never leave your voltages auto on the chips.
