Need help upgrading your GPU? Let me know what you're using and what you want to do!
Hi everyone. New here but friend to the channel. PC specs are as follows ASUS ROG MAXIMUS FORMULA X 2X 16GB GB KIT corsair vengeance DDR4 INTEL i7 9700K Thermaltake 360mm aio cooler Question is: I had a 2070 auros super gpu and that got fried (somehow). I have sent it in for repairs but they were unable to fix it. The company offered multiple (6) cards (all higher) as replacement cards as a courtesy to continue using my computer, but each card had its own issues. I got to the point where i took my computer box to the company and asked them to test various cards to test which card will actually work in my system, to no avail They sent the computer back to me saying that my system is too old and will not be able to run any other card than a 30 series card and im limited because of my chipset. I would like to know if this is a acceptable reason or if I should dig deep and actually get a new 40 series card in the hopes that it might just be their stock cards that are problably faulty to begin with? Any advice will be must appreciated! Thanks ahead.
I've heard about 50 series cards not functioning on some 8-10th generation boards, so you might want to consider that option. 40 series isn't the issue. You can quickly search online for users running models like 4070 or 4090 on that specific board.
The RTX 4000 should work with your motherboard and CPU. I tested the RTX 4080 on an ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F with an Intel 9900k for several months before upgrading, and it functioned smoothly. Keep in mind that higher GPUs may limit performance due to CPU constraints in newer games.
It seems you're explaining that the shop only tried cards that failed on your system, which is why you haven't succeeded with others. You're also noting the limitations and mentioning your current financial situation prevents you from purchasing a replacement card.
Some believe 5000 cards won’t be effective because of limitations in scope or execution. The exact reason often relates to constraints in resources, timing, or strategy.
It seems you're talking about issues with me. I've come across similar discussions online, and some haven't worked as expected. There might be a BIOS update that could help, though many of these boards are over five years old and no longer receive support.
I was puzzling over what it might be, wondering if it could be rebar... Honestly, that's new to me. Thanks!
