Need Help OC i5 2500k
Hello everyone. I've been part of this community for some time but never signed up before. I'd like to express my gratitude to all for sharing their advice on overclocking. I've tried almost every guide for overclocking my CPU, yet nothing has worked. My goal now is to keep up with the latest high-end games and see if I can boost my FPS slightly.
I have an Intel i5 2500k
Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4
GTX 680
16 GB G.SKILL 2133 (1.5V) [4GB x 4]
11,11,11,30
Corsair TX 850 PSU
I'm having trouble maintaining a stable overclock at 4.0 GHz. I can boot up at around 4.5 GHz but it crashes at full speed. I've followed the timing suggestions, adjusted voltage between 1.3 and 1.4, disabled all other settings except PLL, but progress is minimal. I'm starting to lose hope. Any advice on achieving a more stable overclock would be really appreciated. Thanks for your time.
I have a 250mm intake fan, 250mm top exhaust, 120mm rear exhaust, hyper 212+ (push/pull). I've struggled to get a good OC to the CPU, possibly due to differences between my BIOS and CPU-Z. My BIOS lists 11,11,11,30 while CPU-Z shows 11,11,11,28 under memory. I also have 2133 RAM running at 798.1 MHz. If I adjust the timing on the RAM, what effects might that have?
