Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure this out. I'm checking the MSI QVL for the B450 Gaming Plus Max board to see which RAM options fit. The QVL link is here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/...ort-mem-19. Regarding the 1|2|4 Dimm, it seems it checks if the RAM supports up to four channels at a time. If it only shows support for one or two channels, it might not work properly with four channels at full speed. You're planning to start with 16GB and possibly expand to 32GB, which could be useful for Blender, gaming, or even Unity. The GSkill Aegis set is listed in the QVL and should work with four modules. Spending about 25 euros more for 3200MHz RAM sounds reasonable if you're upgrading from a 1231V3 to DDR3 at 1600MHz with a Ryzen 5 3600.

I also checked the 3200MHz model. The issue is they aren't listed in the QVL, so I'm unsure if they'd work with 4 modules at the advertised speed. This specific version is nearly twice as costly as the Aegis set (112 vs 65) in the Netherlands.
I can't access the MSI link you shared. However, I’m not convinced they won’t work with the board unless you pick ones designed specifically for Intel. The G.Skill Neo supports a particular AMD version, it’s RGB (which gets a 2.5x clock boost due to color processing) and runs at 3600 MHz.
The G.Skill Neo models are significantly more costly than the Aegis set. Even if they aren’t listed in the QVL, it doesn’t guarantee they’ll function at the claimed performance level—there’s no certainty about their effectiveness at the advertised speed.
