Goal: secure browsing and privacy online
Based on Debian foundation. Stable from launch, blocks all methods to trace identity through network traffic, except OpenVPN. Offers straightforward control over fan settings. Suitable for users transitioning from Windows. Recommended browser is Firefox. Can be installed alongside a Windows setup on the same partition (partitioning possible). Save all remaining upgrade information for quick reference. Ideal for light usage and efficient web navigation.

Xubuntu seems to match the criteria closely. It’s been my preferred choice due to its lightweight nature, user-friendly interface, intuitive app-based setup, and the availability of an app store.

Debian often faces the "learning cliff" problem quite frequently.

I add mxlinux to the mix, it runs on Debian, is quick and much lighter than MintDE. It’s really top in the distrowatch rankings.

Distrowatch is solely tracking the hits. Should I have made it clearer?

I enjoy Debian, even though it might be trickier for beginners compared to other Linux distros like Ubuntu and Mint. It’s great for learning, which is why I used it heavily before switching to Arch. I’m still thinking about dual-booting it on my PC or using it on my laptop.
