I've noticed sudden FPS drops lately. At first, I thought it was due to overclocking, but after resetting everything back to stock, the issue persists. My system specs are: GPU - NVidia GeForce RTX 3060, CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, cooler - Corsair ICUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX, RAM - 32GB 3200MHz, motherboard - ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WIFI), power supply - EVGA 650 B5. You mentioned it might be related to the power supply since you recently added the CPU cooler and two 8GB RAM sticks.

I experienced some unusual behavior with my FPS in games, similar to what others faced. It turned out the RTX 30 series works better with DX12 than DX11, especially if your game supports it. If available, try switching to DX12 and observe the results. It could also help to keep HWMonitor running during play to monitor component usage and temperatures. I noticed my 3070 Ti was fluctuating between 50% and 70% on DX11 but reached 100% on DX12 in the same game—Insurgency Sandstorm.

Thank you, but what if it doesn't support DX12? Also, when my frames drop, it goes to just one frame until I reduce the graphics settings. Even after that, it keeps happening and I have to keep lowering and then go back up repeatedly (this happened on Sea of Thieves too).

I searched online and noticed more users with RTX 30 cards experiencing FPS drops while playing Sea of Thieves, though not necessarily as extreme as others report. Could this issue occur in other games too? See the link provided: https://www.seaofthieves.com/community/f...ps-drops/8 Many are discussing similar problems. I didn’t read everything, but someone might have a solution.

Up until now, the ocean was full of thieves and the battlefield was chaotic before I entered a game with average to low visuals.

Consider reinstalling the NVIDIA drivers. Use the DDU tool to remove them and then reinstall.
