with the available options, the RAM can be upgraded to a certain capacity and there is a maximum speed limit for the NVMe SSD. The battery may also be replaceable depending on the model.

Battery replacement is possible for both units. Each model currently features a solid state drive, but adding a second one might not be feasible depending on your needs. Upgrading the battery will depend on their existing specifications—there are two options, with the larger 60 Wh model available from the factory. A 42 Wh version is also offered. Be aware that the 7480 has a notable failure rate, while the 5400's reliability is less certain. We typically use both models in our workplace, and most Dell models across four generations have experienced high battery failure rates.
