Hey everyone, my current setup looks like this: GPU is an ASUS Dual RTX 3070, CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, RAM is 16 GB at 2400 MHz (Corsair), and the motherboard is MSI B450 A PRO MAX. I really need to upgrade my RAM, so I came across a Patriot Viper Elite II DDR4 kit with 32GB at 4000MHz. I think they’re decent but might be low quality since they’re CL20. I’m considering either the Patriot kit or GSKILL’s 32GB DDR4 3600MHz kit at 16GB. Which one would perform better and be more stable? Any other ideas welcome!

I’d choose a 3600mhz kit of vengeance or the Ripjaws V you mentioned G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory (F4-3600C16D-32GVKC) - PCPartPicker

Consider purchasing the 3600c18 model. Performance improvements from the 4000 kit may be minimal due to its high speed, making it unsuitable for 1:1 FCLK. The older design likely supports dual-rank configurations, so you might achieve higher speeds beyond 4200 MHz. If aiming for single-rank performance, a desync FCLK could help at frequencies over 5000 MHz, though voltage and cooling requirements make it risky unless you're comfortable with instability. For RAM speed, only manual overclocking can surpass factory timings, regardless of budget. Avoid the 3600c16 as a cheap alternative; opt for 3200c16/3600c18 instead. Thanks to everyone, I've placed an order for 3600 cl16. I'm still figuring out the overclocking process, but I'm eager to learn.
