I’d choose the Gigabyte x470, though it’s just my preference. All three options are good, but I’m leaning toward Gigabyte right now.
They include 4 plus 12 VRM on their Z390, while ASUS performs poorly in terms of heat management, quality, and overclocking options.
Gigabyte experienced major issues with the X450 and B450 chipset, only the Ultra Gaming 7 board stood out as decent, while other boards shared the same VRM. The Asus B450 F-Gaming offered a weak 4-phase VRM but used different chokes and MOSFETs compared to Gigabyte, making it only marginally better. The MSI B450 Pro Carbon featured excellent 4-phase VRMs with dual capacitors on both high and low sides, supporting an 8-phase setup that comfortably handles overclocked 8-core CPUs. Edit: It’s puzzling why manufacturers vary so much in quality across different chipsets; Gigabyte really underperformed on second-generation Ryzen boards.
