PS : Désolé pour mon orthographe qui ressemble à un frog français essayant de faire son mieux. J’ai récemment acheté ((je réalise après)) un Monster multitâche ((vous trouvez mon profil)). La première étape était d’installer une démo de Windows 10 pour vérifier le fonctionnement : test du diagnostic du disque, utilisation de VBox for Ubuntu et streaming net, mais tout s’est arrêté à 50 % pendant le démarrage et j’ai démarré en mode noyau. Je ne comprends pas vraiment comment le lancer... Trop compliqué, je pense. J’ai donc supprimé un CPU physique et ça a amélioré, mais... Mon cerveau a fait une étincelle et reformé le système, mais directement sur mon 500 Go SSD... La mémoire graphique maximale est de 128 Mo. Le virtual PC fonctionne parfaitement et les tests CPUID sont proches de ceux de Windows 10, mais pas assez de puissance graphique pour jouer. J’ai vu Linus Tech Tweaks unifier tout pour exploiter pleinement ma nouvelle machine. Mon objectif : jouer sur un 19" (retro gaming) Ubuntu pour le reste du temps, ou l’inverse, et j’espère réussir à moner un 55" avec la GTX 1050. Bonne chance ! Alex
This setup isn't ideal for gaming. You're using an outdated Xeon with weak single-core speed. For your needs, you can run Ubuntu as your host OS and use GPU pass-through to two virtual machines—XP and Windows 10. Be clear, this configuration isn't stable; nothing is guaranteed to work. Anticheat games won't function properly. This setup is far from recommended, but if you're determined, good luck. A virtual GPU won't provide enough power for actual gaming—it's not that easy. You'd also need to connect the GPU directly to the VM, which VirtualBox doesn't support and requires more effort than expected. Plus, it's a bit of a multitasking challenge; even with an E5-2689 dual CPU, performance is only marginally better than a cheap Ryzen 2700X in games because of the weaker single-core performance. Lower your expectations and make sure you're not making incorrect assumptions when trying this.
I really get it—this setup sounds promising for a cloud server, datacenter, CNC tasks. Still, my gaming dreams with low graphics are over. It’s not too bad though, and it’ll be a solid upgrade compared to my Intel Core 2 Quad.
