Hello everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to set up my internet in this new house with poor connectivity. The internet provider places cables in a box, and we have two lines coming from it. We want to split these across four apartments using a router inside one of the apartments. The setup includes an 8-port switch connecting the router to wall plugs in each apartment, which then send the signal through the cable back to the basement box. I placed a Wi-Fi extender near the wall plug, but it doesn’t seem to work properly. It works with TVs and gaming consoles, but not with the extender. I’m unsure if using a router or a simpler solution would help, especially since the internet passes through the main router before reaching the extender. I’m a bit confused and this is getting frustrating. Can someone help me troubleshoot the extender?

Based on my past experiences, Wi-Fi extenders tend to cause more problems than they solve. I’d prefer a standard router with pass-through functionality instead.
