Hi Drew,
I understand you're setting up your HP Proliant ML350 G4 Server with Ubuntu Linux. Since you're aiming for optimal performance, let's figure out the steps. Have you checked if the server supports installing Ubuntu directly? You might need to prepare the system by updating drivers, installing necessary packages, and ensuring proper storage space. If you're unsure, reaching out to community forums or a tech support channel could provide clearer guidance. Let me know if you'd like help with specific commands or configurations! Thanks!

I completed the task, though there’s no way to start from scratch. The RAID settings are default, and most configurations are done, but I can’t find a choice to boot from the CD or USB even though they contain identical files.

I experimented with various HP G4 servers and after installing Windows Server 2008 R2, I had to use a smart start CD. Here’s the downloads and support page link: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hp...oid=430581. I searched for Ubuntu Server but it wasn’t available, though some other Linux distributions might work. All I needed was to burn the CD and run it, then navigate through the options—hopefully finding what you’re after.

Currently, I'm examining Windows Server 2008... It appears Microsoft has released it for free.
