You're preparing your PC for upgrade and have some important considerations. Since your motherboard is an AsRock B450M/AC and you're using a Ryzen 5 3600, you likely won't need an older CPU unless you plan to update your BIOS. The BIOS updates are usually compatible with newer CPUs, so you can proceed directly with the Ryzen 5 3600. Just confirm your motherboard's BIOS version and ensure it supports the latest updates for your components.

If the board actually shows "Ryzen 3000 Ready," you're all set. The 3 in 3600 indicates it's from the 3000 series. Where are you buying it? If you must update the BIOS, you'll need an older CPU since this board lacks BIOS Flashback support. You can either borrow a CPU from AMD (they offer a free loaner program) or have someone with the capability do the update for a small charge.

I'm ready for the Ryzen 3000, got it from PC Part Picker. The MOB info isn't clear—I can't see an image. Let me know if you have more details!

It seems Amazon is on your side with that sticker. Your 3000 series CPU looks good, and the motherboard confirms compatibility.
