Need assistance with your motherboard issue? Let me help you troubleshoot!
Hey guys so I'm unsure if my mobo is faulty or not so heres my problem: My computer can only boot with the boot ssd plugged in (if any other drives are plugged in it either doesn't boot and just has a black screen or it sometimes boots but the pc doesn't detect the drives). Sometimes it doesn't even boot. If it doesn't boot I have to turn it off and on until it does (usually turns on after a couple of tries). My specs are: MSI Gaming Plus Max B450 Ryzen 2600 Vega 64 Strix Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb Samsung 850 evo sata ssd FSP Hydro G 750w PSU The motherboard was bought brand new but the rest second hand but they are working fine when my pc is on. I have tried everything and the problem still persists, so any help is appreciated! Thank you
Update to the newest chipset. Clear the CMOS. Try a different drive with the boot drive.
You're asking about the purpose of this process. Essentially, you're trying to understand how Windows boots and what happens when it encounters a drive with a different installation. It's about troubleshooting boot issues and ensuring compatibility between the operating system and storage media.
