I've got a Dell OptiPlex 755, but the built-in sound isn't working. It keeps showing that nothing was connected while I know my speakers are properly plugged in and I'm using Windows 10 Core 2 Duo with a Windows 7 OEM hard drive.

Do you have any drivers set up, or are you relying on the one that comes with Windows? When you connect something to the front headphone jack, entering your service tag on dell.com/support should help locate at least Vista x64 drivers, possibly Windows 7 x64 drivers or your audio chipset model.

The IC might be damaged, causing it to fail to function properly.
