Bascally i own a dell G3 and when ever i try to play any game it always runs at the max 3.9 Ghz that it can. I have absolutely no idea how to make it stop, i've tried XTU lowering the voltage of the turbo boost but it won't help. If anyone can help it would be greately appreciated because this is ruining all of my gaming experience and i can only play low end games. It makes my laptop OVERHEAT

What is it about running at 3.9Ghz that feels so bad? It really doesn’t make sense to me.

I believe the computer is moving at such high speeds that it's nearly reaching the speed of light, causing it to slow down.

Share your temperature readings. How much did you attempt to reduce the voltage? What is the actual frequency during operation? Also, what are your expectations for this laptop?

Reapply the thermal paste and remove any dust from your PC; this should likely fix the problem.

Observed it came a bit too soon, but you could still manage it.

Even my 20-inch thick alienware 17R5 that claimed to deliver 4.5GHz or more was limited under 3.5GHz. You still have options. You might also explore liquid metal alternatives. Switching the paste can significantly impact laptop performance, especially with Dell machines—they use a rather basic kind of material.

Examine the bios details and refresh the information. I found that the G3 bios includes an XPS thermal management system.
