Need assistance with your Asus Z390-E?
Hello! I just completed my first build but am facing problems. Everything works initially, yet it keeps restarting in a loop. After turning on the power, the CPU indicator lights up, then the PC powers off and restarts, this time the DRAM light also activates and after a short while it shuts down and restarts repeatedly. ASUS told me it’s due to RAM not being in their QVL. I’m considering visiting Best Buy tomorrow since they have a RAM set in the QVL before returning the wrong one. Do you know anyone with a similar configuration? Are there any steps I can take to check if my motherboard is faulty? I also reinstalled the cooler and CPU, checked using only one RAM stick each, but nothing changed. The model I have is an ASUS Z390-E Intel i7 9700K Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB (cmk16gx4m2b3200c16).
For those facing similar issues, I recently replaced the QVL RAM but didn't find a solution. I contacted ASUS, but their troubleshooting advice seemed unhelpful. It might be better to look up answers online. Their steps suggested checking the QVL, resetting CMOS, swapping RAM slots, and concluding the motherboard was faulty. After hanging up, I rechecked the connections and slightly removed the heatsinks based on a forum comment. It didn't fix anything because I had unplugged the USB cable from the case panel. This caused a short in the panel's circuit board! To rule out motherboard problems, I removed it from the case and everything functioned properly, even with incompatible RAM. Hope this helps others!
Only slightly adjusting the cooler bolts didn’t resolve the problem. The issue seemed to be elsewhere.
