You're not using Windows, you're using Linux. Your RX580 works fine on your Mac Pro, but running it inside Windows is a challenge. You'll need to find compatible drivers or consider alternative setups. The short answer is yes, it's possible but may require some effort.

You can definitely utilize the 580 feature on Bootcamp. For the enterprise edition, you need to modify the license by purchasing a new one. Since Windows 9 isn’t available, that’s the situation.

Windows 9 was the last major enterprise version they released. Also, I don’t even bother with bootcamp—it’s a messy mess.

You're not sure about the basis of this general claim if your main exposure to Windows was with XP, but that's fine. Bootcamp is the only option for running Windows on current Mac systems. It's required so Windows can interact with Apple hardware via the System Management Controller (SMC). Without it, Windows can't detect any controllers, media devices, or video adapters.

I never imagined someone would say they enjoyed the Start menu in Windows 8.1. Windows 9 isn’t officially available, so it can’t be legally obtained. For a business version, you’d need to purchase something else. Just stick with Windows 10 if you’re done.

All windows require the SMC dummy driver and SMC control software, which I can download from Apple. Eight can handle this directly; a boot camp is necessary for OSX to recognize additional options. It functions more like a boot management tool. I use Windows on other Macs, but my main concern is getting RX580 to work with Windows 8 since I can’t find specific drivers. I have ten on an iPad using just the file manager and one app, plus another that runs Steam only. Both operate smoothly with hardware support and clear directory paths. You can bypass SMC or force it to start without boot camp—it’s quite manageable.

I understand 9 isn't officially available, but Luke mentioned it a lot and there were many videos about it when it became popular. The 8.1 start menu was really impressive, while some users just ignored it. From a design perspective, you could create apps that only work in the start menu. The search engine was finally replaced. The main issue is I don't know where everything is and when Windows behaves strangely—I have no clue how to fix it.

You're wondering why you prefer Windows 8.1 for its Start Menu while considering Windows 9, which resembles Windows 7. It seems contradictory since both Luke and Linus referenced Windows 9 in their videos, but they didn't recommend it. As for Windows 10, I didn't rule it out entirely—just because of the changes and updates.

It seems the Windows 7 experience with version 9 has many features removed, which isn’t ideal. I don’t like seeing ads everywhere or having to restart after waking up—it slows everything down. The updates are too intrusive, especially when they interfere with system tasks. I can’t disable updates on my installations anymore, and turning them off during maintenance is frustrating. I also remember the chkdsk interruptions during Windows updates a while back, which really annoyed me. I usually keep updates off unless something urgent appears in the news. The theme customization option is missing too.
