Some of your apps, shortcuts, and icons have disappeared unexpectedly. You can clearly notice the missing items since there are empty spots. Additionally, all bookmarks in Chrome are gone too. It’s quite annoying. Kindly respond quickly and assist me. Thank you.

Do the icons return after a restart or is it permanent? What happens when you click one of the blank spaces? Have you per chance run CCleaner recently?

They aren't working at all. It's as if they were removed. The usual ways to install apps such as Vegas, Steam, Origin don't function. I haven't tried anything yet. Why is this happening?

Pressing the Windows key followed by typing an app's name shows it in the list, and you can still launch it. It looks like your shortcuts were cleared, but the actual apps remain accessible.

Yes, there are apps available. The missing shortcuts were the issue. I'm bringing them back to function properly. What caused the problem?

Really, I have no idea. It might be an app or a setting you set that removed the shortcuts. That’s why I was wondering about CCleaner—if you accidentally selected the wrong option, it could delete your shortcuts, bookmarks, temporary files, and more (it’s pretty customizable). I hope this issue doesn’t come back, otherwise you can think of other solutions.

It's alright. I fixed the apps and saved items from a desktop recording I made. Maybe. We're not entirely sure. I'm really nervous about restarting my PC now, haha.

It looks like you managed to recover them from a backup. I discovered a Microsoft tool that addresses issues with Modern UI apps: http://download.microsoft.com/download/F...ps.diagcab This comes from a similar support thread. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...e1500be423 It might help resolve the problem. Have a great day!
