I was planning to go up from version 8.1, but I also torrented it, which means I ended up paying for Windows 7. I won’t pay for any more OS upgrades.

You don’t need to use Windows. Try Linux instead, or just install Windows 7 and upgrade for free.

I’m familiar with Linux and run it on my servers. For my personal computer, I prefer stability while staying current. I won’t pay for Windows more than once.

I mentioned having a Windows 7 key... why not use it for the free upgrade to Windows 10? That’s what confuses me. Apart from that, it’s your decision if you want to pay or not. But from what I see, stealing an operating system feels like a bad idea—especially since people in my country often pirate Windows for free.
