Uncertain about your question... all LGA2066 processors support multiple cores and threads.
They run on 4/4 timing. Has multi-core support. Core count isn't high enough, but "multi" is accurate since the number is over one. It's multithreaded, not single-threaded. If a 4/8 was available, it likely wouldn't have developed such a bad image. Intel even made their i3s hyper-threaded recently.
I see what you mean about the 7640x and 7740x. The X299 platform offers a wide range of chips, all supporting hyperthreading. Most come with 10, 12, 14, 16, or 18 cores, and many have double that in thread count. My setup uses an X299 with 16 cores and 32 threads (7960x), while my latest refresh model is an 18-core/36-thread 10980xe.
