Need assistance with updating the MSI BIOS.
I’m preparing to assemble a PC using an MSI B550 gaming carbon WiFi board and a 5600X processor. I sent my serial number to MSI, who told me a BIOS update is required. From the box, the board doesn’t support 5xxx CPUs, so I had to use the BIOS flashback feature. I’ve watched several YouTube tutorials and memorized the steps. MSI customer support replied, but their guidance was unclear. If anyone could assist, it would be greatly appreciated. Are MSI BIOS updates available or should I stick with the latest stable version? The version I found is 7C90v17 from June 2021 (17.78 MB). The message suggests updating to v1.4 for the 5600X and references the CPU Support List on the MSI website. Any advice would be helpful.
