I'm facing problems starting Windows 10 with UEFI on my laptop. The issue started after a power cut and my battery failed. Everything seemed normal until I encountered the error code 0xc00000e9. I tried restarting several times without success. Later, I restored the system using another laptop and created a Windows installation media. When I booted from USB 2.0, the same error appeared again.
I then replaced the Toshiba HDD with a new one and connected it to another laptop. Everything worked fine there, so I thought maybe the drive was damaged. I used a SATA to USB3.0 adapter for that situation and managed to get everything back up. However, when I tried to boot from the old drive again, the BIOS kept rebooting to default settings.
After some troubleshooting, I realized the HDD was fine but needed proper installation. I cleaned it up, converted it, and used WINtoUSB software to install Windows 10 GPT UEFI. Despite multiple attempts, the system still wouldn't boot properly. Eventually, I switched to a legacy boot mode, which finally got Windows to start.
This whole process was frustrating, especially since I trusted the repair steps but ended up with a confusing situation. I'm hoping someone can help me understand what went wrong and fix this issue.
That was exactly what we aimed for—no dull tech talk, just a bit of fun to keep things interesting!
Power on the old system, then restart it, switch it to UEFI mode, and observe the changes.
I can't download or extract files directly, but I can guide you on how to do it yourself. You can visit the website, download the Windows ISO, save it to a USB drive, and then install it using UEFI settings. Let me know if you need step-by-step instructions!
