The laptop already has a digital license connected to the motherboard, meaning if you reinstall Windows later, it would activate automatically.

Is the "Secure Boot" option turned off in the BIOS settings? This feature prevents booting from external drives, which is why it's called Secure Boot.

The USB stick isn't showing up either. You're recommending we also try a USB 2.0 stick. I was using the laptop's USB2.0 port, but I'll give it another shot.
My friend lives far away, so we need to schedule meetings regularly. It might take some time before I can switch off WIN's S mode. Still, I'm willing to try. Thanks.

We definitely don't plan to use or reinstall WIN. Our goal is just to remove it and switch to Linux instead.
