Hi there everyone!
I’m trying to upgrade my i5 7600k and I’d like to do it with a bit of assistance. My system specs are listed below. This is my first time overclocking, so everything feels new. I found some guides that claim the 7600k can reach up to 5 ghz—which sounds impressive, but I really wanted to try it. In the BIOS I set it to 5ghz and adjusted the voltage to 1.3, but when it booted, the system crashed. I changed the voltage and frequency again, but the issue persisted during startup. I assumed I made a mistake since there are so many overclocking options available. I didn’t want to risk it further, so here I am. How can I get my i5 7600k to run at a higher speed? (preferably around 5 ghz).

System details:
I5 7600K
Asus GeForce GTX 1060 Turbo 6gb
1x8gb Ballistix RAM
AsRock fatal1ty z270 K4
Arctic Alpine 11 plus
Seagate Barracuda 1tb
2x CSL PC LED strip red
Thermaltake Smart 600 Watt
Sharkoon TG5
7x 120 mm red ring fans
Kingspec 60gb SSD

Your gaming results will get better with an additional 8GB RAM stick. Running in a single channel reduces gaming performance, especially with AMD CPUs and also with Intel.

Thanks for the update,
But I can still keep my CPU at around 4.2 GHz or 4 GHz, which shouldn’t be an issue.
Edit: I’ve set it to 4.5 GHz with a voltage of 1.300, and benchmarks show it’s working well.
