Need assistance with the CPU? Let me know how I can help.
Hey everyone, I'm trying to make sure I'm posting here correctly. I currently have an AMD FX 8350 with 4GHz and want to upgrade for playing Monster Hunter Worlds on PC. I own a M5A78L-M plus a motherboard and am looking for a solid CPU upgrade option. I'm browsing websites but only see comparisons to what fits the board without damaging it, and I just need help finding a good CPU choice. I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks a lot!
The AM3+ socket is outdated; consider upgrading your motherboard for better performance.
This motherboard accommodates a maximum of 125 TDP for the CPU. The recommended options are listed here: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78L...pDesk_CPU/. Your CPU is likely the best fit available. If you aim for higher performance, consider upgrading your GPU. This CPU runs slowly but should handle most games.
It's not really about buying a graphics card. The issue is more about performance limits. Who expected a purchase for that reason?
You don't have to just play the game. The essential specs are FX6300 your CPU should be better. What's your GPU? System needs: 64-bit processor and OS Windows® 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-bit needed). Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4460 at 3.20GHz or AMD FX™-6300 Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 760 or AMD Radeon™ R7 260x (VRAM 2GB). If you plan to upgrade everything, not just the motherboard, your setup won't work.
Upgrading your PC isn't necessary; newer processors often need different motherboards and memory types. Modern systems use DDR4 instead of DDR3, so you'll need a compatible motherboard with the B450 chipset. This setup supports AMD Ryzen processors at higher speeds. You should switch to DDR4 RAM, preferably 3000, 3200 or 3600 MHz, matching the Ryzen's performance needs. A Ryzen 1600 is a good starting point. For a decent motherboard you can upgrade to around $70 for 16 GB of RAM. If you have more than 8 GB, selling your current setup as a kit might bring in about $100 on platforms like eBay or Craigslist.
