Need assistance with the Arma series? Let me know how I can help!
I enjoy playing BF4 and GTA V during my free time, usually getting about two hours of playtime. I’ve never played the Arma series before, but I watched a few YouTube videos and found them impressive—some creators like fankie make great content for Arma 2 and 3. It seems they look much better than BF4.
1. However, it can feel quite complex at first. I’m unsure if starting now will help me grasp the game and learn how to play effectively.
2. Regarding purchasing, Arma 2 is available for £7 for a full collection, while Arma 3 costs around £30 plus DLCs worth about £20. It’s worth considering whether the extra cost is justified or if you could save by waiting.
Few people still play 2. There are many more realistic units in 3 than in 2 if you pay attention. DLCs don’t matter much when there are plenty of mods available. Unless you’re only playing Altis Life, Arma isn’t too tough from a battlefield standpoint. If you’re into a more realistic Arma 3 unit, let me know and we’ll welcome new members!
Arma 2 plus its expansions make great value for Day Z mod Arma 2/3 – it’s not overly complex, and you won’t have trouble. It’s better than BF4 in terms of speed and fun, though BF4 offers a more intense experience. What matters is what you enjoy most.
Arma 3 is an upgraded experience with enhanced gameplay, platform improvements, and a vibrant community. All mods have shifted to new hubs, making it distinct from previous versions. Success in a 2-hour mission often comes from teamwork, highlighting the value of joining a strong community. If you're based in Europe, connecting with local groups can help you find the right support. While American and Canadian communities may not always engage with Arma 3, I've participated in ops with several European teams.
Support the popular choice here—Arma 3. If you can't budget for it now, hold off until the summer discount arrives. I believe the experience will feel quite different from what you're used to after Battlefield 4, though direct comparisons aren't warranted.
