MSI b450m Gaming with CPU Ryzen 5 3600, PSU Thermaltake 550w 80+ BR, GPU MSI GTX 1660S, RAM Corsair LPX 32Gb, CPU cooler Arctic cooling esport 34 duo. I faced issues with the initial CPU—it kept high idle temps in the 60s to mid-60s and a 96°C spike during Apex Legends, causing crashes. I swapped it for a better model with the cooler. After that, I experimented with overclocking and tweaks like PBO and CPB (auto or off). With the cooler, I tried overclocking but found it complex. Research showed PBO can lower idle temps by 2-3°C and keep gaming temps steady around 55°C, though sometimes spiking to 60-65°C briefly. When PBO auto is on, idle temps rise slightly (41-43°C), but at Apex they stay higher (65-68°C). It’s unclear if these changes truly help or just make performance seem better. I’m unsure why results differ, especially with OBS enabled. Thanks for your help!
