The updated version of Battlefield 2 from 2005 is available on Steam. I'm excited about it, but your concern about system requirements is valid. Running it smoothly on Windows 10 at 1440p might be challenging due to age-related compatibility issues.

It should work on 10 ezpz with several mods active thanks to GoG, no issues there. For 1440p it's uncertain. I ran it at 4K with DSR and it worked, but the UI, HUD, and other elements got broken. Stick to 1080p or test 1440p later. I might try 1440p tonight if you're free in a few minutes.

Functioning smoothly on Windows 10. The interfaces appear at a reduced size (likely 800x600) unless modifications are applied, but they can increase to 1440p when adjusting the game settings.

I verified that the HUD becomes distorted when viewed in 4K resolution. However, I really liked the gameplay at 1080p last year.

I've found a thread listing the recommended ones. Most mods come with an installation guide. For mods packaged as a short name folder (like HOL, A1B), place them in the adding folder in GameData. A few require extra steps, but 99% are straightforward.
