I am assembling a desktop that blends the advantages of both platforms. My goal is to integrate a Mac, a PC, and accessories enabling smooth transitions between them. The planned setup includes:
M4 Mac Mini with a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB storage
Dell XPS 8960 desktop featuring a Core i7-14700, RTX 4060, 32 GB RAM, and 2 TB storage
Samsung ViewFinity S9 27-inch IPS monitor with a 5120 x 2880 resolution

Regarding the keyboard and mouse, both support connecting up to three devices via Bluetooth, allowing quick and seamless switching between PC and Mac. The monitor offers Mini Display Port and Thunderbolt 4 ports. I envision linking the XPS through Mini Display Port and the Mac Mini via Thunderbolt 4, achieving a unified display at 5120 x 2880 resolution in either device.

Would this configuration be feasible? Are there any issues or limitations to consider?

You may wish to check out the review there;
27" ViewFinity S9 5K IPS Smart Monitor with Matte Display, Ergonomic Stand and SlimFit Camera | Samsung US
www.samsung.com
shared by Zephm, five months back.
What you require is a KVM, and transferring data through these ports won't be possible when both systems are connected.
This might be worth considering.

You believed you could link the Mac mini to the Thunderbolt 4 port, the XPS to the DisplayPort, and switch between them. Is that accurate now?

I saw this review on Samsung's site where someone talks about using a computer with the DP port and another with the TB port. It’s the ninth comment in the discussion. This setup seems suitable for me. The Logitech keyboard and mouse can connect through Bluetooth to several computers, so I wouldn’t need a KVM for them.

Yes, it's possible to link two platforms to a single monitor, allowing you to switch peripherals easily with a simple adjustment.
And exchanging between them whenever needed.
I interpreted this as data transfer between the two platforms, and I'm sorry for any confusion.

Thank you! I do not need to transfer data between them, just the screen to work with both.
I already ordered the monitor and the XPS, they should be here next week. I am waiting for the Mac mini to be broader available, as it is still hard to get it being in Brazil. My current computer is fine, but I expect this dual setup to be a real beast.
Thanks so much for the help.

I'm considering whether it's wiser to exchange the XPS desktop (featuring a Core i7-14700 and an RTX 4060) for a Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra laptop (with an Ultra 9 185h and an RTX 4070). The benefit is the laptop's Thunderbolt port, but I'm uncertain about the potential drawbacks. Any thoughts?
