It's not only the motherboard but also the CPU's memory controller that matters. The Ryzen 2000 series will reliably run at 2933 MHz, while anything higher is an overclock attempt and may not function properly. Consider the advice from others who have tried it.

I adjusted the frequency to 3.7 GHz and used 2800 MHz RAM. The system shut down twice, restarted, and displayed a BIOS warning about incorrect RAM settings. You asked if boosting the CPU clock speed to 4.2 could still work while keeping the RAM at 2800 MHz.
