To sum up the situation, I own four 8GB sticks of g-Skill DDR4 3600MHz CL18 in my PC... well, that’s not how it went. Now I’m left with just two. I’m not sure why, but both failed. Interestingly, they came from the same kits and were placed in the same slots. I’ve never experienced a RAM failure before, yet this seems unusual. It looks like the failure might be linked to the specific slots rather than the kit itself. I suspect the sticks could be from the same batch, possibly worn down over time, but it’s strange that one from each set failed and they weren’t identical kits. I’m a bit concerned about my RAM slots or the memory controller on my 5800X, but I don’t know what to check next. I ran a memory test and identified the faulty sticks. Now I’m using only the working ones in the recommended slots. Should I replace the dead RAM? I’d rather not risk another failure. Maybe it’s time to buy a new 16GB kit instead? What do you all think?
