Generally whenever I face up against other players the stutter becomes extreme and it’s completely unplayable. I’ve ever had to forward ports before on this router. But today I did it. I updated Fortnite and got an error when joining a game, I added the needed ports and they disappeared. I played without any lag throughout the match. Now, after several hours the issue returns. It seems the ports might be the problem. UpNp is turned on. Both IPv4 and IPv6 firewalls are active. IPsec, PPTP and L2TP are allowed through. Anonymous request filtering is on, filter for IP (port 113) is enabled. I’m using a Linksys smart Wi-Fi router on dual band and connecting wirelessly. I’ve used my device IP when forwarding the necessary ports. It’s really annoying and only happens during Fortnite. I’m usually fine, but as soon as I see an enemy it starts to stutter badly. It’s making the game impossible to enjoy.

I'm not sure if port forwarding benefits Fortnite, but I'll try to assist you. Which device are you using? Have you verified that the IP address of your playing device hasn't changed after port-forwarding, or did you assign a static IP? On this site you can locate Fortnite ports and find some guides https://portforward.com/fortnite/

I verified it didn’t alter anything. I assumed they wouldn’t change without a reason, but I looked it up. Usually it’s fine in Fortnite, though I managed to fix it. It’s really strange that it happened by chance. I’ve never adjusted these settings before. Disabling filter ident port 113 made a big difference now. If anyone knows why that helped, I’d love to hear!

Do you know why the identification feature is slowing things down? I’ve played Fortnite on another machine and never seen these issues. It worked fine when I first forwarded the ports, but after a few hours I switched to Apex and it started acting up when facing opponents.

It might just be a coincidence. Also, do you share a connection through Ethernet or Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is available, but I’ve always used it through Wi-Fi. The drivers are current. I could post a question to check if anyone has suggestions. It’s awkward not to include the password.
