I'm a bit lost... so is everything running smooth and the culprit was squid, or is it still slow, and you only have VPN but have squid?

I think it's best to skip Squid because it creates more issues than it helps. I stopped using it after switching to broadband. Now that most of the internet uses HTTPS, I really don't see much point in Squid anymore.

The problem was with Squid. I'm not using Quid anymore, but I have my VPN active.
