I purchased a new GPU (MSI Ventus XS GeForce GTX 1660 6GB GDDR5) that needs 8 PCIe slots, but my PSU only has 6. After installing the GPU and connecting the PCIe slot, it didn’t work. I upgraded to a Corsair TX750 power supply, but everything except the monitor is functional. The previous GPU isn’t showing up on screen. Could there have been a sudden power loss when switching GPUs? Please advise!

It shouldn't be necessary, though it might be possible. I would first restart your BIOS (the method varies by board, but you can usually remove the CMOS battery, unplug power and hold the power button for 30 seconds). If that fails, attempt using the onboard GPU if available. Make sure all cables are securely connected.

Are the GPU lights illuminating and are the fans operating?

The GPU and fans are functioning properly. There are no sounds, and the issue lies with your monitor not showing anything.

Here are some simple clarifications:
Your display is active, but it isn’t picking up the signal.
Have you checked if it’s connected to your built-in graphics card?

The monitor is powered on yet it can't pick up any signal. Since you're just starting out, it seems you likely don't have integrated graphics unless specified.

I can't provide the precise details since I'd need to take out my CPU and lack thermal paste. However, I can confirm it's an Intel i5 3.0 processor.

No success. The monitor isn't picking up any GPU signal.
