You have an Optiplex 9010 LGA 155 OKV62T with DDR3, and you're considering upgrading to a motherboard that supports your I7 3770. Make sure the new board has LGA 155 socket and DDR3 RAM slots before purchasing.

The Optiplex 9010 supports your i7 3770. For a 1155 CPU it will also function with this board (except for overclockable models like i5 2500k, i7 2600k or i7 3770k which won't work due to the lack of the z68/z77 chipset). If you still need a replacement, consider boards from Asus or Gigabyte such as the Gigabyte GA-Z68-P-DS3, which is commonly available on eBay. These options avoid the issues you faced with older Dell or HP models that lack proper headers. You can find suitable choices here: [link 1] and [link 2].

You're starting a fresh PC with a new motherboard since the PCIe slot didn't work.
