Hello all, I just noticed my Ram had stopped running at its full speed, here's a brief rundown of the system i7-12700k MSI z690-A 32gb 2x16 Corsair vengence RGB PRO 3600MHZ Weird thing is the PC has been running at 3600mhz since i put it together over a year ago. I went to re-enable XMP and it keeps booting with a Memory OC failed, I've tried MSI memory try it, and no matter what i do, it keeps memory oc failed, and defaults back to 2133MHZ. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated Edited April 27, 2023 by JJohn429 Spelling

Memory speed: 3200 (adjustable later) Memory Gear (IMC:Memory ratio): Gear 1 (1:1) Timing sequence (tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS): 18-22-22-42 Set 2T command rate DRAM voltage: 1.35V System Agent: 1.4V CPU VDDQ: 1.35V Ensure startup, then increase frequency gradually in one ratio at a time to confirm 3600 is functional. This assumes a 3600 CL18 kit; for CL16 use the adjusted timings.

I managed to locate all the settings except the system agent. After adjusting the rest, it booted up successfully. However, selecting the frequency remains tricky with multiple options. The attached picture helps clarify the issue. Thanks for your assistance—it’s a step forward! The second photo shows what happened when XMP was accidentally enabled.

Please refer to the initial image for guidance on choosing the 3600 frequency. Those are your sole choices.

Consider testing the 3600 G1 unit first (Gear 1). If that fails, proceed with the 3600 G1 variant (27 x 1.33 x 100). The 1.33 setting should be simpler, offering a lower multiplier for better performance with the Integrated Memory Controller. I just discovered this... It's an DDR4 system, but I appreciate the effort!

I checked every possible variation but it didn’t work anymore. The strangest part is it previously functioned perfectly with the XMP profile. I just realized today it’s not operating as expected. Please let me know if you have any other ideas, thank you for your assistance!
